We are all-electric

Flexeserve is now an operation solely powered by electricity. We’ve worked tirelessly to remove our reliance on gas throughout the business and, as of 2024, we’ve been able to fully achieve this.

To begin this journey, we removed gas usage from our testing and development kitchen, as well as our manufacturing processes. We were then able to update our heating and hot water system to run only on electricity.

This desire to be all-electric has also extended to our fleet of vehicles. The entire fleet now comprises either electric or plugin electric hybrid vehicles, all of which are ULEZ compliant. The hybrid vehicles will then be replaced with fully electric models in the near future to finalise the all-electric fleet.

Going forward, we intend to further improve our sustainability measures by implementing solar panels across our Global HQ’s estate, as well as tracking any carbon usage to ensure we are doing all we can to offset it.

Removing plastics

We quantify, monitor and control the environmental impact of our operations, including preventing pollution and making specific commitments relevant to our organisation.

As part of this, we now only send UK deliveries to you using 100% reusable shipping materials. Meanwhile, all export deliveries are shipped on wooden pallets with recyclable cardboard sleeves.

Reducing energy

We've made great achievements through energy-saving initiatives. Electrifying our fleet of vehicles, installing smart LED lighting and air conditioning, and insulating our loading bay facility have all contributed to 37% less reliance on electricity.

We have also supplied ‘Your Carbon Footprint’ training to all Partners, helping contribute to a 69% reduction in carbon emissions since 2019.

Wasting less

We're very proud that, as of 2022, 0% of our manufacturing waste goes to landfill. This is part of a company-wide ethos that actively encourages reducing non-recyclable waste.

100% of our waste is either recycled or recovered to be reused.

Our Culinary team has also been pushing to reach zero waste, with any additional food from demonstrations now being composted.

Refining processes

While a reduction in materials is important, we have also found ways to optimise our processes for greater efficiency. Our new testing process alone has reduced time expenditure and energy usage by 75%, thanks to our rapid in-line testing equipment and procedures.

Our need for a safe working environment not only keeps our Partners safe, but a reduction in accidents and incidents also results in reduced production delays, operation downtime and an increase in motivation and satisfaction.

Sourcing sustainably

We use digitalized management systems to run a completely paperless business. Within our manufacturing, 70% of our components are sourced from within a 10 mile radius of our Global HQ.

It is very important to us that we support local businesses, as well as our international partners, all with a like-minded vision of sustainability.

Partnering for a greener future

We are excited to be working alongside The University of Leicester’s School of Business in the creation of a digital suite of resources, toolkits and other materials to help local businesses reduce their carbon footprint.

The Greener Future Project explores how local organisations can collaborate to accelerate climate action together. By developing a decarbonization pathway plan, we can all discover a way to net zero emissions.
