A message from Jamie Joyce, Flexeserve CEO
Statement issued: 20th January 2021
WE ARE OPEN FOR BUSINESS – WE ARE FULLY OPERATIONAL – WE ARE READY FOR THIS!
Firstly, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year. I hope that you, your families and friends are all well and stayed safe during the festive period.
As you will have seen in the news coverage over the last few weeks, the UK is now in its third national lockdown as well as continuing to experience a high number of COVID-19 cases. Coupled with the pandemic, the UK has also officially left the European Union, which naturally brings its own set of challenges for us to overcome as an export business.
These are extremely difficult times, not just for us in the UK, but for everyone globally and I am conscious that as a valued Flexeserve customer or supplier, you should be fully aware of how we are managing this.
Our priority, as always, is to ensure that the safety of our workforce is not compromised whilst we continue to manufacture Flexeserve products and ship them around the world. Prior to reopening after the Christmas holidays, the team and I reintroduced a number of our previous lockdown measures, as well as implementing some new ones, to enable us to operate safely.
Our production-based Partners are now working in smaller ‘bubbles’ across a split shift, to minimise any potential risk of spreading the virus or impacting our output. Though all of our office-based Partners are now working from home to protect our workforce, they are still working for the home of true hot-holding! We continue to deliver our full range of products and services, with high level protective measures and virtual presentations available, to keep us COVID-secure.
We are working extremely hard and doing everything we can to ensure that we remain 100% fully operational. Throughout all of our departments we are adapting again to the necessary change in working environment and finding solutions to any challenges. This includes our Supply Chain team, who last year began to work in collaboration with our suppliers to plan for Brexit, and this has already minimised the risk to supply, which still remains unaffected.
Strength in the Supply Chain
- We have carried out risk assessments with suppliers of critical parts to identify and resolve any potential supply issues.
- We are already holding significant stock levels of components from European suppliers to avoid potential customs delays.
- We have been working with suppliers to provide forecast and commitment to ensure we have uninterrupted supply during the Brexit transition and beyond.
Despite introducing split shifts and managing social distancing in our production area, we are still manufacturing at high capacity and operating as normally as possible.
Throughout 2020, in what were arguably tougher restrictions than we are facing today, we stayed strong and actually grew our output by more than 50% compared with 2019. I am extremely confident that, with the measures we have in place and our strong relationships with our suppliers, we are in the best position possible to support you during this third lockdown and throughout 2021.
Planned investments will continue in line with our vision and long-term strategic plan. We will be going ahead with a major renovation of our production areas, extending our Research & Development facility and introducing an entirely new business operating system.
All of these contribute to our focus on lean manufacturing principles and streamlined efficiencies to further improve our renowned service.
I have always been a great believer in the value of communication, and I will ensure that we continue to regularly update you over the coming months. However, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or would like more information.
Best regards, stay safe and keep well.
